Honouring Our Lady and Christian Traditions
Each year, the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady becomes the epicenter of Malta’s most cherished religious celebrations. The Feast of the Assumption on August 15th, known as the Festa ta’ Santa Marija, transforms the town with vibrant processions, music, and fireworks, all in honor of Our Lady’s Assumption.
Holy Week and Good Friday
The Mosta Rotunda also hosts a major Good Friday pageant, a tradition that draws thousands of locals and visitors to witness the reenactment of Christ’s Passion — a reflection of Malta’s deep-rooted Christian devotion.
